Top 10 Most Anticipated Anime of Spring 2022

Published by Joseph Neal on

Winter 2022 has lived up to all the expectations it had set with the likes of Attack on Titan Final Season, Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc and My Dress Up Darling. It is very natural to look forward to the next season and think about whether it will be able to surpass the hype of the previous one.

Many big name anime are scheduled to release this year which has got the fans buzzing without a doubt. So, let us take a look at the most anticipated anime of the next season that you wouldn’t want to miss out on.

10. Fairy Tail: 100 years quest

One of the best news for OG anime fans has been the announcement of the anime for the 100 years quest spin off of Fairy Tail. The original series concluded many years back but the adventures of Natsu and his friends are still fresh in our minds.

Moreover, we had heard about the 100 years quest in the story many times and knew that it was the ultimate dream of Natsu. So, the fact that the writers decided to publish a spin-off covering that story is a dream come true for many fans. In this anime we will see the main gang of Fairy Tail embark on this 100 years quest and come across a thrilling adventure, the likes of which they have never faced before.

9. Don’t Toy with me Miss Nagatoro (2nd season)

Don’t Toy with me Miss Nagatoro has been a huge success in its first season. Being a romcom anime, there was a solid chance that it would also disappear along with the other clichéd romcom series. But the two unorthodox main characters have really pulled through in making this series a success.

Hence, it comes as no surprise that it got a renewal and will feature our favourite characters, Naoto and Nagatoro once more. Hopefully this time their chemistry will have more sparks and Naoto will show a bit more courage in his approach.

8. Ao Ashi

2022 is the year of football anime with both Ao Ashi and Blue Lock getting anime adaptation release dates in the same year. The titular protagonist of this series is Ashito Aoi who lives in a rural town and wants to make it big at a professional soccer club.

However, his mistake leads to his team’s loss and he thinks that every last bit of hope has gone from his hands. To his disbelief, a well known coach from Tokyo was present there who saw the potential in Ashito and invited him for a trial. This might be the last chance for Ashito to get closer to his dreams.

7. My Hero Academia 6

Season 6 of My Hero Academia will cover something that will totally blow the minds of MHA fans. It will be the Paranormal Liberation War that is by far the most critical point in the My Hero Academia story.

Manga fans will know the lasting effect it will have on the viewers and the shocking twists that no one will see coming. The story has been perfectly set at the end of season 5 with the Endeavor Agency and the Meta Liberation Army who will now increase their firepower by joining hands with the League of Villains.

6. Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a soccer anime that is going to completely revolutionise the genre of sports anime. It will describe a story of football in a way that has never been told before. The plot is based on an initiative called Blue Lock that has been set to create the best striker the world has ever seen.

After numerous disappointing performances by Japan in the world cup, this was seen as the only way to climb to the top of the soccer world. The brain behind this project is Ego who will stop at nothing to create the perfect forward for his team.

5. Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The game for Pokemon Legends: Arceus is currently the trending topic in the anime gaming world. Much to the disbelief of fans, an anime adaptation for the Hisui region in this game is also going to be released in the coming season. This is an added bonus that everyone received out of the blue.

It is safe to say that fans have been going crazy over it and speculations have already started. Since the Pokemon: Journeys anime series is currently going in, it remains to be seen if Ash will star in this new Pokemon anime.

4. Komi Can’t Communicate (2nd season)

Komi Can’t Communicate is that type of anime show that seems very simple from a synopsis but has got many deep layers within the story. This is why it became quite a popular series and the production studio is bringing it back for a second season.

The plot of this anime is based on the titular character named Komi who has some serious problems in communicating with others. She wishes to make a lot of friends in her school life and the male lead character is going to aid her in this mission.

3. Chainsaw Man

If you are excited about Attack on Titan and you think it is the best show ever, then you should definitely give Chainsaw Man a try. Chainsaw Man is bound to break that notion and surpass all the worldwide hype that was created by Attack on Titan.

They will both have the same production studio – MAPPA and this series has the potential to be their best work yet. The amount of twists and turns may even be hard to digest for the fans with the pace they will be thrown at them. Hopefully, Denji will be the comfort protagonist that we needed all along.

2. Spy x Family

Spy x Family is a very underrated manga series that has been in serial publication in WSJ for a long time. It has quietly gone under the radar and can certainly be dubbed as a hidden gem. The fact that it has finally got a date for its anime adaptation release speaks volumes about the potential it holds.

It can certainly become the next big thing in the manga world and dominate it like Naruto or Bleach. As the title suggests, it is essentially a feel good manga about a family of spies who will enchant you through their colourful adventures.

1. Classroom of the elite (2nd season)

The news of renewal for Classroom of the Elite is like a long lost friend coming back to you. Based on a light novel, the first season of Classroom of the Elite enjoyed decent success on the back of a unique protagonist and engaging storyline.

But fans had almost given up hope when the anime was not renewed for a second season several years after its conclusion. The news of a new season for this anime has been quite unexpected and the viewers are waiting to see the events transpiring in a school where survival of the fittest is the ultimate truth.
